As many of you may know, I took a trip to Guatemala the summer of 2016. While I was down there, I was working at an orphange called Salvacion Fundacion (Story International) located in Northwest mountainous region of Guatemala, called HueHuetenango. I was blessed to be able to get to know the kids and other volunteers as I helped out wherever was needed.
This trip ultimately changed my life and was one of the main reasons I decided to go into teaching and pursue my degree in Elementry Education.
I plan on returning next month, between school semesters.
Recently I won some money, that will help this organization house some of the survivors of the Guatemala City youth home fire, that killed 40.
I also will be opening for the guest musician for the NW Montana fair. Come by the merch table and buy some freshly roasted coffee beans, just shipped from the mountains of Guatemala. The orphanage roasts and packages the coffee as a self-sustaining business, and career development tool. I will also have some of the handmade bracelets the orphans create there.
